Sirjan Central library

Selected as a finalist at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2025 in the Future Projects category, the Sirjan Central Library seamlessly bridges ancestral Persian vernacular wisdom with cutting-edge sustainable architecture. Inspired by the passive cooling principles of the traditional Yakhdan (ice house) and Badgir (windcatcher), the design integrates modern copper-vented wind towers, double-skin perforated brick facades, and Persian garden microclimates. Developed as a philanthropic gift to the city, this civic landmark achieves up to 80% energy savings and incorporates 90% recycled materials, setting a new benchmark for contemporary sustainable design.
